If you’re looking to explore a magical wonderland, you might want to check out Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery. The adorable Ontario spot transforms into the North Pole every single winter.
Lace-up your skates! As soon as the snow starts falling, it’s time to hit the ice. Every year, from the end of December until March Break, there is a glistening ice trail for you to explore.
The 1.2-kilometre trail loops around the venue’s famous cranberry marshes, and you can take in the gorgeous views as you glide along.
Every Saturday, weather permitting, the trail gets even more magical as the lanes light up with 400 tiki torches, making it the perfect night outing.
If you get cold, not to worry. You can warm up at the bonfire before making your way back to the winery.
After you are all skated out, you can refresh by enjoying a hot cup of mulled wine. The venue also offers hot cran-apple cider if you aren’t a vino person.
According to the Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery website, a trail pass is $12 per adult. You can also rent a pair of skates for $10 per half day.
The trail is open from 11 am to 4:00 pm, seven days a week and open until 9 pm on Saturdays.
However, the winter fun doesn’t stop there. You can also sample a cheese board on their fireside patio, or enjoy the snowshoe trail.
The winery also has a variety of other activities throughout the season, including their famous Cranberry Plunge.
So next time you’re itching for a winter wonderland getaway, add this spot to your bucket list.
