You Can Sip Wine In An Icy Igloo At This Niagara Vineyard

It’s time to pull out a pair of mitts and head on over to this local spot. Peller Estates Icewine Lounge will let you sip some of their best wine from the chilly confinements of their real-life igloo.

Made out of over 13,000 kilos of ice, this is a must-see the next time you’re in Niagara. The walls, bars, benches and more are all entirely frozen, giving you a truly magical experience.

Kept at 10º below zero (the ideal temperature for harvesting Icewine grapes) you’ll want to make sure you are bundled up.

In order to get a glimpse at Niagara’s only igloo-like lounge, you’ll want to sign up for the estate’s “Greatest Wine Tour.”

You’ll start off with a glass of sparkling wine in their backyard before heading to their underground cellar, which houses around 300 wine barrels.

After another tasting, you’ll then get the chance to head into the icy palace, where you’ll be able to taste some of their “liquid gold” icewine.

If you’re looking to try this experience the next time you are in the region, you’ll want to make reservations online.

Tickets are $42 per person (and $21 per person for wine club members.)

On top of this, you can also try Peller’s Perfect Pairing experience, where you’ll be able to try four of their best wines, each paired with a different piece of food to enjoy.
