Wayne Gretzky Estates Lets You Skate Under Magical Lights & Sip Festive Drinks This Winter

Lace up your skates, because one Ontario winery is transforming into a winter wonderland this year. Wayne Gretzky Estates in Niagara-on-the-Lake is about to open their magical skating rink and it’s the perfect place to get into the holiday spirit.

Run by the famous NHL player, it’s no surprise that this spot will pay tribute to the roots of hockey. Every winter, the massive pond that sits in the middle of the estate turns into something a bit more magical.

With twinkling lights hanging above, this skating rink is the perfect spot to do a lap or two. The location even has a massive fire pit that you can warm up by once you’re done.

The rink is now open, weather permitting. However, if you’re looking to do a lap, you’re going to need to make a reservation.

Open all week long, it will cost you $10 to do some laps around the rink. However, skating is half price if you are a wine club member.

The Whisky Bar patio will be serving a special winter menu as well as a variety of drinks including wine and cocktails. So, it’s the perfect spot to relax afterwards.

You can sip on festive drinks such as the Hometown Hot Cholcate or the Maple Spiked Mulled wine.

If you don’t have any skates, not to worry. Once you arrive you can rent a pair at Wayne Gretzky Estates, as well as a helmet for $10. .

Depending on the weather, you can do laps around the rink until the end of March.

So if you don’t have a chance to go before Christmas, you can also enjoy the magic after the holidays.

Of course, this isn’t the only thing that you can do in Niagara-on-the-Lake this winter. You can also pop into downtown on your visit.
