This Niagara Winery Has A Magical Hidden Patio & You Need To Add It To Your Bucket List

Niagara Winery, Back 10 Cellars

Next time you’re looking for a Niagara winery to visit, you might want to add this spot to your bucket list. Back 10 Cellars, located in Beamsville, has a magical hidden patio that is perfect for a winter tasting.

Open seven days a week, you can sample a flight of some of their most popular wines, including Smitten Sparkling, Blood Sweat & Years and Start From Scratch Chardonnay.

Currently, the spot has a little hidden gazabo, with four tables nestled underneath it, surrounded by heaters, twinkling lights and some faux fur throws.

The cozy atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve transported yourself to a magical snow city, such as a Swiss Alps ski lodge. And even when we went in -10 C weather, it wasn’t nearly as cold as some of the other local patios.

However, if you’re not someone to brave the freezing temperatures, the Niagara winery has also opened indoor tastings in their bungalow.

In the summer, they also have the Smitten Summerhouse, which is a bigger patio area that you can enjoy.

The seated flight is $20 per person and lasts around 30 minutes.

One of my favourite parts about this local vineyard is that it was established by a caring couple in 2002, who is always willing to share their story (and teach you a thing or two about wine.)

Every single time we visit, Andrew is always excited to share what process goes behind each of the wines that they have created and answer any questions that you may have.

On top of that, the local spot also always seems to go above and beyond, occasionally handing out fun treats – if you find yourself there at the right time (such as french onion soup in the winter and some fun wine cocktails in the summer.)
