Hidden Ontario Winery Is On A Tiny Island & You Need To Take A Ferry To Get There

If you’re looking to get away on a paradise vacation but don’t want to leave the province, this might be the spot for you.

Pelee Island Winery is located in the heart of Essex county on a tiny island that will make you feel like you are in a different country.

Floating in the middle of Lake Erie, this little piece of land offers amazing views and even better wine. While you need to take a ferry to get there, it’s worth the trip.

Once on the island, you’re only steps away from the stunning vineyards and gorgeous estate that this spot has to offer. They have over 700 acres of grapes, making it the largest private estate winery in all of Canada.

You can look at gorgeous views of the water while sipping on one of their many popular wines, in both red and white.

You can also chow down on some mouth-watering pizza and other snacks at their Deli Hut while listening to live music on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Currently, you can only get to the island by ferry from April to December and can view the schedule on the company’s website. The winery is set to open on Friday, May 12, 2023.

Once you’re done at the winery, you can also explore the rest of the island and grab some ice cream at one of the many cute shops by the ferry dock.
