Looking for some things to do next time you’re in PEC? As someone who usually visits the county two to three times a year, there are a few places I need to hit up for the perfect weekend.
With amazing wineries, eats and spots to explore, it can be hard to fit everything into one trip (which is why I always keep coming back).
But here are some of my favourite things to do in PEC every time I make it to the area.
1. Friday Night: Dinner At Waupoos
Sitting right on the waterfront, this winery is the perfect place to start your trip in Prince Edward County. While the wine is great, I also love stopping in for some food.
The menu is always changing and currently offers a fish, meat and vegetarian option. Of course, you can finish with some delicious desserts such as seasonal cheesecake gelato.
2. Saturday Morning: Start With Breakfast At The Lighthouse Restaurant
This little breakfast spot is the perfect place to fill up for the day. In the summer, they have an outdoor patio that sits right on the marina, where you can watch the boats sail by.
Once you’re done with your coffee and eggs, you can also wander the streets of Picton. I love to do a little exploring and shopping before heading out to wineries for the day.
3. Saturday Afternoon: Sip Wine At Closson Chase, Three Dog & Broken Stone
When it comes to a solid wine tasting trip, I like to hit three vineyards throughout the day. Some of my favourites include Closson Chase, Three Dog and Broken Stone.
However, there are so many adorable local spots to explore. Every time you visit Prince Edward County I recommend trying to find a winery that you haven’t been to before and try it out.
Suggested for you!
4. Saturday Night: Chow Down On Tacos At La Condesa
The best way to end a day of wine tasting is with some amazing food. La Condesa, located in Wellington, has the best Mexican food around.
You can also spend some time before dinner wandering around the adorable little town which has some art galleries, clothing shops and more.
5. Sunday Morning: Take A Walk Along Sandbanks Beach With Coffee
This sprawling beach takes my breath away every single time (and I’ve seen it in both the summer and the winter). I like to take a quick walk up and down the sand before heading back home.
However, it’s also the perfect spot to lay out a towel and do some tanning for a big chunk of the morning.
6. Sunday Afternoon: Have Lunch At Signal Brewery
While this thing to do technically isn’t in PEC, it is pretty darn close. As you head out of the island, I recommend making a pit stop in Corbyville.
This little brewery is located right on a gushing river and offers the perfect views while you enjoy some suds and pizza.
