You don’t need your passport to be transported somewhere sunny this year. This outdoor patio in Picton is right on the water and will give you all of the Italy vibes. Picton’s Lighthouse Restaurant sits right on the harbour so you can watch the boats while you eat.
Nestled in the heart of Prince Edward County, this joint offers some of the best views in the city, and the food is great too.
Currently open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday to Monday, it’s the perfect weekend spot, especially for breakfast.
Whenever Adrian and I are in the area, this is our favourite place to stop to fill up on coffee, pancakes and eggs. With a huge list of early morning eats, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
While the restaurant usually has an indoor dining area, this year they have expanded out onto a patio, which makes the place even more magical.
Picnic tables line the water of the harbour, so you can sip on your morning coffee while watching boats come and go.
The blue waters and sunshine will make you feel like you’ve been transported to a European vacation, while still being able to enjoy all the classic Canadian breakfast favourites.
Currently, the restaurant is doing take out containers only, so don’t forget your garbage on the way out.
Picton’s Lighthouse Restaurant also offers a lunch menu and a drinks menu, so you can turn your visit into something a little boozier.
Once finished with your meal, you can wander through the quaint streets of Picton to do some window shopping, or head out to one of the many wineries that are in the area.
If your favourite colour is purple, make sure to stop by Closson Chase Vineyards. The bright barn is perched right on a beautiful row of vineyards.
You can also stop by Broken Stone Winery, which often features live music and a complimentary welcome wine.
Happy Sipping!
