You don’t need a passport to feel like you’re somewhere more tropical this summer. A Niagara winery is having a “Taste of Italy” event that will make you feel like you have left the country.
Ridgepoint Wines, which is located in Vineland, is hosting the event on Saturday, June 24. In honour of Canadian Italian Heritage Month, they will be celebrating the release of their new Appassimento and Ripasso-inspired wines.
During the event, you’ll be able to taste three different Italian-inspired food courses that will be paired perfectly with some of their wine.
Start with some Lamb Spiedini, which will be paired with a 2021 Cab Merlot Rispasso. Next, sample some wild boar sliders with a 2019 Cab Merlot Corvina.
Finally, you can sip on the 2017 Corvina Appassimento while trying some amazing gnocchi in tomato sauce.
With the amazing food, wine and stunning views of the vineyard, you’ll never believe that you are still in Canada!

Tickets cost $80 per person, with the wine and food pairings included. You can buy in advance on the winery’s website.
Spaces are limited for this Niagara winery “Taste of Italy” event, so make sure to pre-order your tickets in advance if you want to attend!
