Finding the best restaurants in Niagara can be overwhelming. With so many local spots to choose from, many times you don’t know where to start- especially if you aren’t from around here.
Luckily, locals have tested out spots across Niagara, St. Catharines, and the surrounding regions to weed out the bad and highlight the good.
As someone who moved to the area under a year ago, here are eight restaurants in Niagara that locals just won’t stop recommending to me. Trust me, they are definitely worth the hype.
The Karma Kameleon Gastropub
Location: Thorold
If you’re looking for some over-the-top drinks, this is the first place you are going to want to check out. Karma Kameleon sells caesars with entire meals on top.
They also have a mouthwatering menu that includes towering burgers and saucy pasta.
The District Tapas+Bar
Location: St. Catharines
With over 15 years in the restaurant industry, their chef has paired up with his brother to bring so much flavour to your table. The tapas menu is something that is going to keep you coming back again and again.
From Smoked Duck Mac n’ Cheese to Avocado Bruschetta, there is something for everyone.
Napoli Ristorante & Pizzeria
Location: Niagara Falls
When it comes to Italian, look no further than this local spot. Whether you choose to go for the pizza or the pasta, you really can’t go wrong.
The gnocchi is some of the best in town and you have to try their Italiana pizza.
Taco N Tequila
Location: Niagara Falls
If you’re looking for a fiesta in your mouth, this is the place to be. This Mexican joint located near the downtown area serves so many amazing tacos.
However, you’re going to want to bring a friend to help you finish their towering drinks, including the 45 oz margarita.

Calling all beer and pizza lovers! This is a local spot you’ll never want to leave. The Grist, which is family-owned, has so many flavours to choose from including the popular Gristian Butcher.
When it comes to the suds, you can select a flight of their rotating selection, including the Key Lime and Cherry Sour Ale and Orange Creamsicle Pale Ale.
