A Hot Chocolate Trail Has Hit Niagara & You Can Sip On Over-The-Top Drinks

Calling all sweet tooths! A hot chocolate trail has hit Niagara and you can sip your way through the cold winter months. You can warm up with over-the-top drinks during the city’s Winter Festival of Lights.

From now until February 20, 2023, the self-guided trail will let you visit 17 different stops, where you can sample 23 unique flavours (some even have booze to give you an extra kick).

From good old classic flavours, to move inventive cocktails, you’ll have to head out on multiple days to try them all.

Some spots you won’t want to miss include the Niagara Distillery, where you can sip on an alcoholic Christmas Chocolate Orange.

Ruby’s Tuesday’s has Salted Carmel and Dirty Snowman options (which include flavoured marshmallows and even eyeball gummies).

If you’re looking for something super classic, Hershey’s Chocolate World is serving up its fan-favourite candy cane flavour.

Depending on where you stop, the steamy drinks range from $3 to $16. You can view the entire Niagara menu and prices on the hot chocolate trail website.

There is even a map you can download that will help you make sure you hit every single stop.

The tour is taking place during Canada’s largest free outdoor light festival, where you can see spectacular displays with millions of twinkling lights.

Scattered all around the city, you’ll be able to drive through a glowing park, wander under sparkling tunnels and pose next to life-sized Christmas decorations.

During the festival, there will also be 40 nights of entertainment and 40 nights of fireworks to enjoy. Some events include special illumination of the Falls, free photos with Santa, acrobats, the telling of Christmas stories and more.
