You don’t need a plane ticket to be transported somewhere more tropical. This beachside restaurant in Ontario has amazing views of the waters and serves over-the-top tropical drinks that will make you feel like you’re on an island vacation.

The Growling Gator, located on the shores of Grand Bend, is a pub with a gorgeous outside patio and a menu full of mouthwatering eats and drinks.

It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day on the beach or a great lunch stop between your daily activities.

In fact, the local spot claims that they serve “the Bend’s best food,” but we’ll let you decide on that yourself.

If you’re feeling adventurous you can gator-size your drinks and get some fishbowl drinks that are as big as your face. You might want to bring your friend to help you finish.

From daiquiris to margaritas, to pina coladas, there is something that will suit everybody’s taste buds.

Some of their specials include the orange dreamsicle, which is orange blended with ice cream and vodka. Another is the frozen mudslide which includes coffee, chocolate and ice cream with vodka.

If you’re more of a beer person, you can also opt for a giant Corona or a Coronita.

When it comes to food, the local spot serves pub favourites including pasta, burgers, chicken fingers, wraps and more.

Of course, they also have some sweets to end your meal, like deep-fried cheesecake.

This isn’t the only beachside restaurant in Ontario that you will want to check out.

Studabakers Beachside in Orillia has milkshakes with entire meals on top, including burgers and onion rings.

They also serve up 12 different flavours of martinis, including candy apple and chocolate-covered cherry. Or you can go for the Adult Unicorn Shake which is topped with cotton candy.
