If you’re from Canada, you know that the butter tart is our official national dessert. However, some spots make the flaky pastry better than others. 13th Street Winery not only makes some of the best butter tarts in Canada, but they come in a variety of different flavours.
Located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, this adorable winery has a bakery that is always brimming with festive and seasonal treats. From cookies to pies, you’ll want to take one of everything home the next time you visit.
However, you can’t stop by without trying their take on the Canadian dessert. For $2.75 you can pick up one of their plain or pecan butter tarts.
However, if you’re looking for a spin on the classic treat there are so many more options to choose from.
Currently, the bakery is also offering cherry tarts and their famous “Skor” tart which is loaded with all of your favourites from the classic chocolate bar.
The company also offers some seasonal tarts that you can look forward to every year. The ice wine tarts, which usually appear at the beginning of the year are a must-try.
They have also done their own take on a hot chocolate tart and a pumpkin spice tart for the Christmas and Halloween months.
If you want to order from 13th Street Winery, you can currently do so online for pickup between the hours of 10 am and 5 pm.
It is worth noting that you should place your order 24 hours in advance to pickup, and you need to order a minimum of six treats to qualify.
You can also check out some of their wines and pick up a pre-made dinner, including soups and meat pies.
If you’re looking for other things to check out next time you are at Niagara-on-the-Lake, you can also explore Peller Estates. This local spot will let you sip wine from an icy igloo.
